Chargers Hold Off Dons in 5-4 Victory at Home

Stephanie Luhmann won her sixth game; Tiffany Fox drove in four RBI.

Cypress, Calif. - Tiffany Fox drove in four runs and Chelsea Jewett had the Chargers other RBI in a 5-4 Orange Empire Conference victory at Cypress College on Friday. Jewett went a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate with a pair of runs scored. Mallory Campbell also scored twice, while Jessica Reichner came in to score one time against the Dons.

Cypress (20-4, 11-1) pitcher starting Stephanie Luhmann (6-1) picked up her sixth win of the year after allowing just two runs on six hits in four innings of work. Courtney McGee got her first save of the year after tossing six innings of two-run ball out of the bullpen. Santa Ana (15-9, 6-6) starting pitcher Kaitlyn Hooper (12-7) got tagged with the loss after giving up five runs - all earned - on nine hits in six innings on the mound.

The Chargers return to action on Wednesday, March 28. when Orange Coast College comes to visit. That game is scheduled for 3 p.m.
